Thursday Night Rendezvous

When we packed all our stuff I believe we went over to gamble some more and all partake with each other as a team; I think that's where I polished off the original 200 I had put in (still had 80 or so in chips).

Once we had our fill, we headed over to dine in rumjungle which is a brazilian food place that prides itself on it's all you can eat meat that they bring out on skewers periodically. Unfortunately none of us ordered them; I went with the very feminine but delicious salmon. We had chicken skewers w/pineapple and old/stale calamari that wasn't very impressive. There was this delicious green sauce you put on steak that we ate with bread that was DELICIOUS!!!! Their rolls were very very good; I'd give them an A, and I'm actually fiendin for them right now as I write.

Once we finished it was time for some more gambling for some, but it was only for a bit before we tried to figure out what was good for the night. Some wanted to do the club, but we heard the clubs in Mandalay are just trrrrrrrble Kenny. We wanted to do it kinda big, but it was already late and unfortunately no one really wanted to get over to the Venetian to check out Tao like me and Aakash aspired.

We ended up settling for Mix in Mandalay due to its convenience. We gangsta leaned to the line and waited a good 30 min even though we were like #3. I spied a very very sexy short asian with beautiful fake eyes that worked the front of the lounge and sent everyone up the elevators. However, it would be tough to talk to her since she was so far away and you only really got a shot when you went up the elevator (small time window).

All of a sudden we heard some shouting from the elevator room (we couldn't see in). Then a pack of 4 security guards ran over into the room; more shouting ensued and another 2-3 guards came and eventually some dude was all trashed up yelling while in the process of being cuffed. He really almost shook off 3 guards at once until he was finally subdued and escorted out.

As the rucus was ensued, the Asian walked over as the natives were getting restless; why were we not in the club yet?! So she came over to calm us down, and I quickly used it as a chance to make some sort of joke albeit not funny. "We can still get in the club though right?" Was my best idea and she looked and nodded (I guess mission accomplished).

Eventually 10 min later after a large group we were escorted past the tape and i walked by the asian. I believe she must've turned and I wasn't able to make contact her. I think in the future after thinking this over, this is when I really need to pounce. I think (probably overthinking) that when girls turn from me, they really are basically telling me "talk me out of trying not to talk to you" or "I really want to talk to you, but don't want to make it obvious AT ALL." It really makes it tough for someone who is very hesitant as myself. I find it weird I was very hesitant in Vegas, I mean what's everyone there for right?

Anyway I think I made eye contact w/her as my proximity in the elevator room was as close to her as I could get. I may have said something, and she looked over and smiled. Unfortunately since I am hesitant and nervous, I didn't secure any contact info and we were on our way up the elevator to the 62nd floor roof. Can I tell you the elevator ride was BEAUTIFUL. We just shot up the side of the MB and saw an amazing view of the strip.

When we got all the way up, there was decent music playing, not many people and a large large bar. There was also a long balcony with that same amazing view looking down at the strip. Just beautiful; perfect to take a date because it wasn't really that poppin. We chilled for maybe an hour and got frustrated, left and started playing cards. I made nice bank to come back to only down 80 for the trip gambling wise.

More tomorrow about Friday night.

Lets Get It

I woke up Thursday around 830AM to drive over to the Patels' place in JC. It was a smooth drive from 9:00 to about 9:45 hitting a bit of traffic on the Pulaski Skyway, but not much else. I slid my car into their garage and we waited until around 10:15 to leave for the airport.

We arrived at Newark and didn't have much trouble getting through security before arriving at the gate. The anticipation of Vegas began to set in and we emabarked on the 4hr first leg of our journey to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport (DFW).

We arrived at DFW well before our flight at 410 CT; when we got out of the gate I realized we had a chance to make it on the earlier flight to Vegas, and had about 20 min before takeoff. We hurried over to gate A and unfortunately from the Air tran, we went to the right instead of left (Thanks for the sign that wasn't there telling us which side were which numbered gates). We got to the gate just before the flight took off but were made aware that the plane was sold out (so the right turn didn't screw us after all).

We then walked slowly toward the gate of our actual flight and made a left into the Dallas Cowboy Store. Rishi picked up a nice white Cowboys hat with x's and o's all over it. I chatted up the cashier, a 5.5 brunette in a Witten jersey. I asked her if it was ok for me to be in the store since I'm a Giants fan. "Oh of course, I'm a Bears fan." After the obvious question of "How could you work in this store if you're a bears fan?" We were basically off on our way to find food and the gate.

We arrived at a bar directly looking into our gate which was convenient. The thin 6.5 red head with a tight body walked by us, strapped on (not that) an apron, and asked us what we wanted. She showed little interest or excitement right off the bat, so this would seem to be a challenge. I already knew that since she lives in Dallas that it would basically be a practice run. Everytime she came over I found something to quip or ask and slowly but surely, her stone cold disinterested face changed into a bright chipper face. Eventually she even came over just to ask us what was up and why we were at the airport. We had her at our table for a good 5 minutes when we heard, "Sarah, stop talking to those boys and do some work," an obvious cock block attempt from some older male customers. She actually paid them no mind and kept her flirt on. We finally learned of a BF about another 2 min later and were very disappointed. Even still, I secured the email (as phone really won't do when you live an undriveable distance I think).

We boarded the flight and chatted up an older lady in her 40s for a bit while I noticed the small blonde in front of her turned and smiled/laughed at our conversation about how the lady shouldn't worry about where her friend was, the friend should worry she isn't going to Vegas. As we filed into the plane, I noticed she sat a row in front of Rishi out of talking range unfortunately. By the time we got off the plane she asked earnestly if I could get her bag for her and noted it was really heavy cuz of all the shoes in there. I walked out first, so Rishi started spitting, but he didn't really do much, and she was gone before we could really set everything up. We actually ran into her again and tried to spit a little. We found out she was meeting her parents in Vegas and staying at a Marriott somewhere off the strip. What I should've done was get her # to hang, but instead I decided to not get it for some odd reason unbeknownst to me.

We met up with Mit who came from SD where he now currently resides and hopped on the $8.50 shuttle that got us to Mandalay in 35 min. We met up w/Coco and set out for some gambling. Immediately lost $120 in the first 30 min. The only reason we stopped was cuz the A squad arrived (Amit, Anand, Aakash and Alex). We got our luggage from the concierge and shoveled it all into the rooms.

More to come...

Long time between posts

So I realized I haven't posted since Tuesday; I had been extremely busy trying to wrap things up at work and cleaning my house before the trip to Vegas. I don't remember doing much but cleaning and trying to complete work. There had to be some online poker in there as well.

I was leaving for Vegas Thursday morning and I went to bed really late on Wed. More to come.

Athletic Prowess

Today was a possibly first annual Memorial Day Softball game. I had to drive Gav to this wedding around 9AM, so I was dying in the morning; I immediately fell back asleep when I got back around 10 until 12:30. It was refreshing, but I still was tired when Anand woke me up with a call. Softball was extremely fun, yet extremely tiring. We played for at least an hr and a half of continuous batting and fielding. We think it was so tough because we only had about 10 people for 5 fielders and 1 pitcher from the opposite team pitching. Basically we figured out later that you just had to hit a ground ball and there would be no problems. I ended up wacking the ball a couple times in the air, but it would just get caught; pretty frustrating. It was a lot of fun though. It was a high scoring affair; ended up winning in the final inning 20-19 on a walkoff single by Amit.

Later we went to Alex's and enjoyed a barbeque with his roommate Jimmy and his friends. The hot dogs were freaking delicious!!!!

Not much else happened. I ended up going home when it started raining and watched the game. My sister and mom are leaving for Beijing tomorrow which is exciting for them. Hopefully they get me a pink crystal bracelet. I got one in Hong Kong, but while throwing a ball destroyed it and couldn't get all the beads back.

Lately I've been having trouble sleeping at a decent hour. I'm not sure what it is. I feel like every weekend I should go out and have more opportunities with the ladies, so when I don't go out, maybe it's a bit disappointing.

That being said, next week is gonna be ridiculous. Leaving for vegas in about 3 days and 10 hr. Unreal!!!

NYC... lets get it

Woke up around 11 to sunshine and a nice day ahead of me with no plans. I did some work the night before so I was feeling accomplished and set to bake some salmon w/stuffing for my sister and I (just got it from CostCo). It tasted decent, but I have no rice or anything for that matter at my house, so it is a bit strong. My sis didn't even finish and by the time I had finished I was feeling woozy cuz it's a bit oily. It actually gave me a pretty bad case of the runs, but I was fine.

After discussing with Gav, I was supposed to get into the city around 3, but I delayed until 4. I love doing the parking in Jersey City (no tolls to get there) then pay the 2.50 for the Gate 51 bus right into the city (total of 40 min drive and max 30 min for the bus). Convenience at its finest. I saw his roommate Ishan for the first time in a while and chatted him up for a bit. We went out to Filene's basement to look for pocket squares for his wedding later; on the same side of Union Square, we went to Coffee Shop to look for Lulu but she wasn't around (2nd miss by me in a week). We ended up eating at a barbecue place on the opposite end of Union Square which was delicious. We shared braised beef, pulled pork and half rotteserie chicken (How do you spell that?!?!). It was freaking delicious; we got mac n cheese and creamed spinach on the side. Wow what a meal!!! The white portions of the chicken were marinated so well that they were even tasty (not dry!).

Later we went back to relax and eventually met up w/Ishan at Pourhouse where he and 2 ladies were watching the game. During the rendezvous Gav made me aware of the real reason we were invited... wingmen... so I went to work (after some prodding). Chick #2 actually got up and told her friend to do a lap to find single dudes in front of us (that's how little game I was kicking in the beginning). When they returned I immediately went to work discussing NBA and how she's from the Bay Area and a HUGE Warriors fan which is impressive. She seemed to know a lot about the NBA and was really into the convo. We continued chatting and when things started to turn towards a more interest in each other level she asked how old I was after I found out she went to USC from 96-00 (my HS years); translation 30-32 yr of age. She guessed 23, "Too young for you?" I responded. She didn't really say much but I told her I was 27 and she seemed fine with that. I feel like older women really just want something above 25 (we're pretty much all the same after that anyway right?). So we discussed dancing and goin out. She told me in order to dance (like in her younger days) she'd need to get really drunk and have really great hip hop/R&B. "So you mean to get you to dance I have to get you all drunk?" To me this is a great thing; a chick telling me to get her all trashed up?????

As the 3rd quarter of the game winded down I told her we needed to leave and I'd need her number so we could hang again, that I'd take her out dancing. She began explaining that she never felt comfortable dancing with people she didn't know (mainly guys) but she always loved dancing w/"her girls". I told her I understood because maybe she treated dancing like creating art with people; if you don't have the connection, you can't do it properly (haha). I actually believe that someone could think of dancing in that way... so there.

She seemed to be trying to talk herself out of giving me her number. When I asked she said, "I'm older than you." I looked down confused and said, "Ok." And she said I'm just telling you that so you know. I was like yeah ok. (Girl trying to give me opportunities to stop pursuing; not really sure why, but it always happens).

I locked up the number and we left. Almost met up w/Rishi, Anand, Praveen and Kobe (Aravind) in NB but made it back too late. Goin to bed; I gotta wake up early to take Gav to some wedding. Kill me. Tomorrow is the big softball game. Fingers crossed for no rain!
