Catchin the train

I finally smartened up and took a train to CT so I didn't have to drive. Unfortunately there are only a few from metro park to Hartford; 2PM and 6PM, so I'd have to miss the full slate of games on Sunday, or the Sunday night Giants game... easy decision.

Unfortunately I've been having trouble w/Cab companies lately in NJ. I called a while back and some girl who works at the cab company I always used talked trash about me to her coworker while I could hear her, so Sunday I called them back and spoke to the manager; she prob got fired. I Guess it really wasn't a recession to her; what else could the reason she is in a customer service oriented business and is trash talking customers? Odd huh?

Well I reserved a cab w/Scooters and they just didn't show up. Luckily my dad just left so I told him to come back and I JUST made the train by a few minutes.

The ride was easy, but I had to transfer in New Haven which was annoying. I didn't know where the next train was, and thought I had a lot of time, I slowly walked around asking people where the train to hartford was, but no one knew. I started to panic and ran to the main terminal where the big board schedule is and noted that the train was "NOW BOARDING". I freaking ran to track 4, up the stairs and made it w/like 10 min to go.

I've been thinking is it worth getting business class/first class seats on the train? There are never cute chicks in those cabins, but it's guaranteeing me a seat and guaranteed luxury? I dunno. I usually get 2 seats to myself in Business class, so I like that. But i'd obviously like it better w/a cute chick next to me to talk to.

Recently I think I've been pressing too much, but that's hogwash because I should always be on the prowl.

Anyway, Got to Hartford and the cab driver got me to the hotel in no time. I told myself I was going to holler at the front desk chick and noticed she was at the front alone when we got there, so I was pumped. Unfortunately, my man took at least 7 minutes trying to run my credit card. I was so rushed that after I cash tipped him, I gathered my things and stepped up to the front desk. My girl asked me for the form of payment and when I pulled out my cards.... I realized I DIDNT FREAKING TAKE MY CORPORATE CARD FROM THE CAB DRIVER. I had to front the bill w/my own card which sucks, but what are you gonna do.

I ended up making light of the situation by asking her how everything in CT was, how her weekend was and if she had any plans for this coming weekend. She told me "The Big E" which is this big fair in Massachusetts that everyone goes to around here. Heather confirmed it for me later. I asked if she'd like to hang out, and she asked what we would do. And then mentioned something about it being illegal??? I think hotel employees in the US aren't allowed to mingle w/guests and in this case who knows. I told her that was her choice and she said something like well you're here for 10 days, so I said oh ok, that means I should be persistent. She laughed. I wasn't really feeling it.

That was pretty much it for the day. The Giants pulled out a big win over the cowgirls. Steve Smith and Mario Manningham are turning into amazing receivers. Smith made the secondary look so bad w/his route running it was great news.

Congrats to Marc & Natoya!!

The week went pretty smooth; I don't have much responsibility on the project i'm on right now probably because i'm the lowest on the ladder and they hooked me up since I"ve been working non stop for 5 or so weeks. It's been nice; I really think i've improved so much at my job over the past 2-3 months. I'm doing the easy sections on this audit and it really helps. I still work hard, but I was able to finish early and submit an expense report which is nice.

I had to drive home on Friday because Marc's wedding was Saturday. Fortunately I got to leave around 145 and made it home in decent time. I relaxed the rest of the day then slept at my parents' house to keep them some company.

Saturday I relaxed in the morning. I played a few poker tournies fri and sat and made prob around $5 which is nice at the stakes I play right now. Bodog completely lost all its action pretty much which is a bit sad, although I don't play regularly now so i prob wouldnt' even be great.

Bryan was gonna pick me up around 2:45 and at 2:20 i realized I forgot to get a card!!!! I ran out the door and dashed to target. I got a card and came back in time; luckily I had money ni my wallet for the gift, so I quickly wrote up the note, buttoned my white express shirt w/pink windows, tied my pink/blue burb tie, put my navy pants on (tight as hell), grabbed my asian style button up suit top, my keys, wallet and card and rushed out the door.

I met Toby the cute little dog (cross between something regal sounding and a beagle) who apparently loves sitting on Carol's lap in the car and doesn't make a sound, and we set off to Carol's parents' house to drop him off. We then made it to the church 5 min late, but luckily the ceremony started 40 min late.

The ceremony was freaking AWESOME!!! The groomsmen and bridesmaids entered from different places and met in front of the groom; the each groomsman bowed when the bridesmaid stopped, locked arms and the lady was escorted to the left; the groomsman then walked to the right and this happened 8 times!!! It was awesome.

Later I exchanged greetings with Natoya and Marcs parents as well as Marc and Natoya w/the congratulatories. We set off for Berlin, NJ which is way south. We stopped on the way at BK to get some cheesy tots and sandwiches because we were all famished. Later we made it about 15 min late to the cocktail hour; the food was freaking delicious!!! They had a large cold plate spread and several hot plate stations. I made eye contact w/a couple hotties in the church and cocktail hour, but found out they were all taken by LARGE men (for once my passivity was a virtue).

The reception area was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Huge venue, large chandeliers, beautiful colors. The chicken dinner was worse than the cocktail hour food no joke!! We watched the wedding party enter really really late (around 840?). Everything was really late; we finally ate at 1030ish and the dancing "started" around 1130? We left aroudn 1145 while everyone started dancing since they were tired and we had to drive a long way home, as well as the fact that there were no single chicks to be had (disappointment).

It was a great wedding all in all. Enjoy the ice sculpture!

Happy Bday Gav & Reshma!

I'm getting killed at work; it's so frustarting, I worked super hard and they said work wasn't thaaaat great.

I went home for the weekend and went out for reshma's party. Hung w/amit, nisha, some of their friends Anand, Nams, Rishi and Jigy. The next night was Gav's bday. It was cool since I saw Larry (his bday) and a lot of other random people. I hung w/Steve for a while and we had an intricate discussion about sexuality which was awesome to learn about. Him and Nancy were semi taking care of me by the end of the night cuz i was all trashed up. Sameer and his friensd were around too.
Sunday I watched football at Pourhouse w/madd people Todd the Bod, Anand, Corey, Omar, Phil, Ravi and more. The gmen dominated and then I played Beatles rockband w/gav and drove to CT.

I also freaking lost fantasy. I hate life.

Long Trek Home

Well, it took 4.5 hr to get home. I went out w/Mit and it was indo mania at V lounge. I had a pleasant surprise meeting w/Alina which was nice. We also hung w/Kobe minus the sneakers.

Saturday relaxed, did laundry, then went to NYC and met italian friends of my friend. Then went to Vanessa's dumpling, and later walked around. We went to Time lounge which had a real nice atmosphere; great music, but my friend wasn't about being the only ones dancing in the whole place. We then hit up the view atop the Marriott Marquis; 10 dollar drinks. We unfortunately were sitting on the side where we didn't see the best view of NJ... we saw the other 75% of the view from the spinning bar.

Sunday went back to NJ; it took 2 hr to get home from NYC which was pretty excruciating, and then went on acela to work. I've been gettin killed at work.
